The formation lap is nearly complete. You gently press the throttle and aggressively steer one last time from left to right, working to keep your tires at optimal temperature. You know this is crucial for attacking the first corner with maximum speed. A strong start could help you pass the two Formula cars ahead, which are already positioned in their starting spots.

Now ease off the gas and focus on the yellow line marking your grid position. While lightly applying the brakes, you edge forward to the very limit allowed, aligning your front wing perfectly with the white starting line.

Next, you press the paddles on the back of the steering wheel to disengage the clutch and shift from 2nd to 1st gear. Your Formula car comes to a standstill.
