Genshin Impact Leak Suggests Wriothesley Rerun in Version 5.4
A recent leak hints at a potential return of the Cryo Catalyst character, Wriothesley, in Genshin Impact Version 5.4. This would mark his first rerun after a year-long absence since his debut in Version 4.1. The game's large roster of over 90 playable characters creates scheduling challenges, making fair rerun opportunities difficult to manage. With limited banner slots and a high demand for character reruns, the current system struggles to meet player expectations.
While the Chronicled Banner was introduced to address this issue, it's viewed by many as a temporary solution. Even with the Chronicled Banner, some characters, like Shenhe, experienced extended wait times exceeding 600 days before a rerun. Until the developers implement triple banners, longer waits between character reruns are likely to persist.
Wriothesley, a popular Cryo Catalyst known for his strong performance in Burnmelt teams, has been unavailable since November 8, 2023. The leak, originating from Flying Flame, suggests his return in Version 5.4. However, it's important to note that Flying Flame's leak record is mixed, so this information should be treated cautiously. Nevertheless, the recent Spiral Abyss buff does enhance Wriothesley's gameplay, lending some credibility to the rumor.
Version 5.4 is also anticipated to introduce Mizuki, potentially Inazuma's first Standard Banner character. If both Mizuki and Wriothesley are featured on the Event Banners, the remaining 5-star slots might be filled by either Furina or Venti, as they are the only Archons yet to receive sequential reruns. Version 5.4 is projected to launch on February 12, 2025.
