90s Gaming Nostalgia: PC, PS1 Classics Revive After 3 Decades

Microids is bringing back the classic 1994 action-adventure game, Little Big Adventure, with a remastered edition titled Little Big Adventure – Twinsen's Quest, launching this autumn on all major platforms. This modern update retains the original game's atmosphere while boasting significant enhancements. Developed by 2.21 and published by Microids, the remake builds upon the legacy of Adeline Software International, the original developer now defunct, and incorporates the talents of Frederick Raynal, a former Infogrames designer, and Philippe Vachey, the original composer, who returns to create a new soundtrack.

The game, a reimagining of Raynal's creation, features a compelling narrative with deeper thematic elements. Gameplay improvements include a refined level design, redesigned controls, and an upgraded version of Twinsen's signature weapon. The visual style has been completely overhauled, providing a fresh look for this beloved title.

Little Big Adventure – Twinsen's Quest transports players back to the vibrant world of Twinsun, a planet inhabited by four harmonious species. This peace is shattered by the villainous Dr. Funfrock, who uses his inventions of cloning and teleportation to seize control. Players assume the role of Twinsen, embarking on an epic adventure filled with challenging puzzles and formidable enemies, with the ultimate goal of defeating Funfrock and restoring order to Twinsun.

Following previous releases on GOG.com, and later on Android and iOS, this latest iteration marks a significant return for the franchise. The project, announced in 2021, stems from the efforts of 2.21, a team including Didier Chanfray, co-creator of the original game and Time Commando. Little Big Adventure – Twinsen's Quest will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG) later this year.
