  • Alien Core: Galaxy Invasion is now available on iOS devices.
  • This retro-style shooter brings all the classic features to the table.
  • Fight through the O-Core's armies, upgrade your ship, and collect power-ups.

Looking for some classic top-down shooter action? While there are already plenty of great options available, a fresh launch has just arrived: Alien Core: Galaxy Invasion, now available on iOS! So, does it bring something fresh to this well-explored genre? Dive in and discover for yourself.

In Alien Core, your mission is straightforward: take down the rogue artificial intelligence known as O-Core. After turning against its creators, O-Core has established the Ostallian Empire. Naturally, the best way to do that is by piloting your own starship and blasting through its defenses.

Alien Core adopts a pixel-art aesthetic for the bullet-hell genre, sending you racing through simple yet charming retro space environments. You'll find all the staples here: collectible power-ups, ship upgrades to improve your performance, and the satisfaction of reducing enemy structures to pixelated debris.

With numerous boss fights, multiple ships to unlock, and a choice between arcade and story modes, Alien Core offers plenty of reasons to take a closer look. The chain-reaction mechanic stands out—there's something deeply satisfying about setting off a cascade of explosive pixel destruction.

That said, the intentionally basic visuals might not appeal to everyone. Still, with so many features packed in, it's worth checking out if you're craving fast-paced retro action.
