Applin and Dynamax Entei to Debut in Pokémon Go This Month

by Zachary Apr 23,2025

Two Pokémon from the Galar region are making their grand entrance into Pokémon Go this month, bringing a mix of sweetness and fiery power to the game. The Sweet Discoveries event, running from April 24th to 29th, introduces the adorable Dragon/Grass-type Applin. Evolving Applin into either Flapple or Appletun requires 200 Applin Candy and 20 apples—specifically Tart Apples for Flapple and Sweet Apples for Appletun. These apples can be found randomly in the wild, with a higher chance near Mossy Lures, and might even trigger Applin encounters.

During the Sweet Discoveries event, you'll encounter wild spawns like Bounsweet, Skwovet, and Delibird. Field Research and Eggs will offer additional chances to catch themed Pokémon such as Munchlax and Cherubi. Timed Research, available in both free and paid versions, will reward you with Sweet and Tart Apples. Opting for the paid version will grant you extra Mossy Lure Modules and more Applin encounters.

ytBe sure to check out the Applin Headband and Apron available in the shop, and keep an eye on PokéStop Showcases featuring themed Pokémon. If high-octane battles are more your style, mark your calendar for the Max Battle Weekend on April 26th–27th, where Dynamax Entei makes its debut. With a bit of luck, you might even encounter a Shiny Entei.

To prepare for these events, take advantage of the various bonuses. These include an increased Max Particle cap, reduced adventuring distance to collect them, and boosted Power Spot refresh rates. You'll also earn eight times more Max Particles from each Power Spot you visit. Leading up to the event, free Timed Research starts on April 21st, rewarding you with a Dynamax Sobble to balance your team against Entei's fiery attacks.

Don't forget to visit the Pokémon Go Web Store to stock up on items for both events. And remember to check out this list of redeemable Pokémon Go codes to enhance your gameplay experience.
