In classic dad fashion, Hollywood icon Arnold Schwarzenegger was just as surprised as the rest of us to see his son, Patrick Schwarzenegger, baring it all in Season 3 of The White Lotus.
“I’m watching the show, and there you are with your rear end hanging out,” the 77-year-old actor recounted during a recent Actors on Actors conversation, captured in the Variety tweet below, alongside his son.
“Then I notice the… weenie, and I’m thinking, ‘What is happening here?’ This is wild! Then I reminded myself, ‘Well, Arnold, let’s be honest, you did the exact same thing in Conan, Terminator, and those other movies. You were naked on screen, so you can’t really complain.’ But it was still a bit of a shock to see you following in my footsteps that literally.”

Patrick arguably had his breakthrough with his role in The White Lotus Season 3, though he’s been active in the industry for some time. He previously starred in the 2022 miniseries The Staircase and 2024’s American Sports Story.
In film, his standout performance to date (in my opinion) is in the 2019 psychological horror movie Daniel Isn’t Real, where Patrick portrays the sinister imaginary friend of a troubled young man played by Miles Robbins. Over the years, he has repeatedly demonstrated that he is a capable actor with his own distinct talents, separate from his father’s legacy.
Arnold first appeared on screen in the 1970 film Hercules in New York and is best known for his iconic role as The Terminator. While he hasn’t been in a feature film since 2019—though he stars in the Netflix series FUBAR, which began in 2023—he is set to appear in two upcoming projects: Kung Fury 2 and The Man With the Bag.
