*Atomfall* offers unparalleled freedom in how you engage with its narrative. Upon starting a new game, you'll encounter five distinct playstyle modes, each designed to cater to different player experiences:

  • Sightseer – Ideal for those who wish to immerse themselves in the story without the pressure of intense combat or survival challenges. Exploration, Survival, and Combat are all set to 'Assisted' difficulty.
  • Investigator – Perfect for players who enjoy exploring independently without HUD assistance, while keeping combat manageable. Exploration is set to 'Challenging', Survival to 'Casual', and Combat to 'Assisted'.
  • Brawler – Tailored for those who relish combat and are up for a challenge. Combat is set to 'Challenging', while Survival is 'Casual' and Exploration is 'Assisted'.
  • Survivor – Recommended by the developers, this mode offers a balanced challenge across all aspects. Combat, Survival, and Exploration are all set to 'Challenging'.
  • Veteran – The ultimate test for seasoned players, with Combat, Survival, and Exploration all set to 'Intense' difficulty.

Choosing the right playstyle initially can be daunting. Fortunately, *Atomfall* allows you to switch playstyles at any time without penalty. Simply pause the game, navigate to 'Options', and under the 'Game' tab, select 'Playstyle'. Here, you can adjust the difficulty of Combat, Survival, and Exploration to align with one of the predefined playstyles or customize your experience further through 'Advanced Options'.

*Atomfall* is crafted to provide a balanced gameplay experience, yet it's flexible enough to cater to your personal enjoyment. If you're deciding between the five default playstyles, starting with either **Investigator** or **Brawler** could be beneficial. These options allow you to gauge your comfort with the game's combat and exploration mechanics, enabling you to fine-tune your experience later.

For the ultimate personalization, consider using the customized playstyle option. This allows you to adjust every facet of the game, from enemy behavior to exploration and trading mechanics, ensuring your gameplay aligns perfectly with your preferences.

It's worth noting that *Atomfall* does not tie achievements or trophies to specific difficulty levels, so feel free to experiment and adjust your playstyle as often as you like without worrying about missing out on rewards.
