Once upon a time, DC's Batman enjoyed a seemingly endless stream of new video games. The Dark Knight reigned supreme, and Rocksteady's acclaimed Arkham series arguably revolutionized the superhero game genre, a legacy felt even today.

Lately, however, Batman's gaming presence has dwindled. A proper solo Batman adventure hasn't graced our screens since 2017's The Enemy Within, and there's no immediate indication of that changing. Though comic book fans have numerous upcoming superhero games to anticipate, those eager to don the cowl of Bruce Wayne must delve into the past to uncover the best Batman gaming experiences.

Updated December 23, 2024 by Mark Sammut: While new Batman games have been few and far between, 2024 proved surprisingly significant for the Caped Crusader. He appeared in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, though Rocksteady's offering isn't strictly a Batman-centric title. The Arkhamverse, however, received a new VR installment.
