Battledom: Alpha Test Begins for Upcoming Strategy Game

by Joshua Jan 26,2025

Indie game developer Sander Frenken has unveiled the alpha testing phase for his upcoming title, Battledom. This RTS-lite game acts as a spiritual successor to his 2020 hit, Herodom, and represents approximately two years of part-time development. Frenken describes Battledom as a refinement of his initial vision for Herodom.

Battledom offers players real-time strategy combat with free unit movement across the map. Engage enemies with direct targeting and manually control siege weapons for devastating attacks. Strategic formations add a layer of tactical depth to battles.

Build your army using in-game currency to create units, initially equipped with basic weapons and no armor. Enhance your units by crafting and equipping them with superior weapons and armor, influencing stats such as attack power, range, accuracy, and defense.

Quarry with stones in buckets and an elevator lifting a bucket of stoneResource gathering is key. Collect materials like wood, leather, and coal within your village to craft these upgrades at specialized workshops – the blacksmith, magician, and other artisans.

Frenken's previous work, Herodom, enjoys a 4.6 App Store rating. This tower defense game features over 55 collectible heroes, 150+ units and siege weapons, and historically-inspired battles. Progression unlocks new character customization options and farm additions.

Join the Battledom alpha test by downloading TestFlight on your iOS device. Follow Sander Frenken on X (formerly Twitter) or Reddit for updates and news. Explore his other games on the App Store.
