After months of speculation and leaks, Bethesda is set to officially announce the remaster of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion tomorrow. The announcement will be streamed live at 11:00 am EST on both YouTube and Twitch, as shared by Bethesda's official Twitter/X account.
The teaser image accompanying the announcement features a prominent "IV" and a background reminiscent of iconic Oblivion artwork, strongly hinting at what's to come. Rumors of an Oblivion remake have been circulating for years, gaining momentum with recent leaks. Initially, a 2020 Bethesda release schedule leaked during the FTC vs. Microsoft trial in 2023 hinted at a remaster planned for fiscal year 2022. Although that window passed, suggesting the project might have been canceled, further leaks in January of this year suggested a full-blown remake developed by Bethesda with assistance from Virtuos. Last week's leaks from Virtuos' website, including in-game images, further solidified these rumors.
If these leaks hold true, The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered will be available on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, with a Deluxe Edition that includes the much-discussed horse armor.
Stay tuned for tomorrow's announcement to get all the official details and more on this highly anticipated remaster.
