Black Myth: Wukong has proven a massive success, surpassing 25 million copies sold as of January 31, 2025. Yet the game's absence from Xbox Series X/S had been glaring, since it was never officially marketed as an exclusive.
Some reports attributed the delay to an exclusivity arrangement with Sony rather than technical constraints. However, Fen Ji, head of developer Game Science, reportedly pointed to challenges with Xbox Series S hardware.
"The only platform missing is Xbox," he said, according to a machine translation, "which feels a bit odd. But having just 10GB of shared memory—without extensive optimization experience—makes it really difficult to get working smoothly."
Now, it appears those obstacles have been overcome, and Xbox players will soon be able to add the acclaimed title to their collections.
