Embarking on your *Dynasty Warriors: Origins* adventure? Gems are essential for turning the tide of battle. This guide explains their function and crafting process.
Crafting Gems in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Gems are craftable, equippable items. Unlocking their creation involves a few steps. After joining Liu Bei's Volunteer Army in Chapter 1, visit an Inn. You'll receive a letter from Zhang Fei, introducing Gems and their raw material: Pyroxene.
Pyroxene is found throughout the overworld as large, jewel-like formations. These spawn randomly, so explore while traveling between battles. You can also obtain Pyroxene as a sidequest reward, from collecting Old Coins, and from Inn letters, ensuring a steady supply.
Once you've gathered Pyroxene, return to an Inn to craft Gems. Crafting is randomized. Regardless of the Pyroxene quantity used (one or ten), the resulting Gem type is random. However, a white glowing aura around a Gem in the crafting menu indicates that only that Gem type can be crafted during that visit.

Gems level up with repeated crafting. Refining enough Pyroxene into a specific Gem enhances its benefits. These are primarily buffs. Since you can initially equip only one Gem, choose wisely. The Wellspring Gem, for example, heals you for each 100 enemies defeated, ideal for large-scale battles.
Conversely, the Ascendence Gem improves your chance of blocking officer attacks, making it more effective in duels. While initial buffs are modest, their cumulative effect can significantly impact battle outcomes.
That’s how you craft Gems in Dynasty Warriors: Origins.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins is available now on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
