Crashlands 2 makes major adjustments and adds new Legend Mode

by Michael May 21,2025

A month after its release, Crashlands 2 has been a hit among both critics and players alike. But the developers at Butterscotch Shenanigans aren't slowing down. They've just rolled out a major new update that adds even more excitement to this already rich game. For those who've conquered the challenges of Crashlands 2, there's now a new Legends Mode that cranks up the difficulty. In this mode, aliens and flora pack a heavier punch, and Flux Dabes becomes even more vulnerable. On the flip side, if you're looking for a more relaxed experience, Explorer Mode lets you enjoy the game at your own pace—perfect for those who just want to fish and explore without the pressure.

Butterscotch Shenanigans has also listened to player feedback regarding elements missed from the original Crashlands. The update brings back the beloved Compendium, which tracks everything you've discovered and how close you are to uncovering 100% of the game's secrets. Moreover, your adorable companion pets are no longer just for show. With update 1.1, they transform into fully-fledged combat companions, ready to fight by your side. And just like in the original game, crafted armor now comes with random bonuses, adding an extra layer of excitement.

If you felt the opening of Crashlands 2 was a bit too long before the real fun began, you're in luck. The new update introduces additional weapons, gadgets, and trinkets right from the start, allowing you to dive into the full experience much sooner. Plus, with adjustable darkness at night, more space for building, and the addition of home teleporters, Crashlands 2 has just gotten even better!
