Destiny 2 Prepares for Classic Weapon

Destiny 2's upcoming Episode: Heresy, launching February 4th, is generating significant buzz among fans due to a cryptic tweet hinting at the return of the legendary hand cannon, The Palindrome. This follows the less-than-stellar reception of Episode: Revenant, which saw criticism for its narrative and gameplay, leaving many players dissatisfied and impacting the game's player base. The hope is that Heresy, potentially Bungie's strongest episode yet, will reinvigorate the game before the release of Codename: Frontiers later this year.

Episode: Revenant did reintroduce some classic weapons, including the Icebreaker, but the community is eagerly anticipating more. The recent palindrome tweet from the official Destiny 2 account, mirroring the weapon's name, strongly suggests The Palindrome's comeback. While not officially confirmed, the community is practically certain of its return.

A More Powerful Palindrome?

This isn't The Palindrome's first appearance in Destiny 2; however, its previous iterations, notably absent since The Witch Queen expansion in 2022, have disappointed due to suboptimal perk combinations. Fans are hoping for a meta-defining perk pool this time around.

With Episode: Heresy focusing on the Hive and the Dreadnought – both beloved elements from the original Destiny – further fan-favorite weapon returns are anticipated as the launch date approaches. The community is looking forward to a more triumphant return for The Palindrome and a renewed sense of excitement for Destiny 2.
