Just yesterday, Final Fantasy XVI’s Naoki Yoshida politely asked fans to refrain from making "offensive or inappropriate" mods on PC. However, mods seem to be the least of their worries, as even the most powerful graphics cards seem to be struggling to keep up with Final Fantasy XVI’s demand on PC. While PC gamers were eagerly anticipating experiencing the title in all its graphical glory at 4K resolution and 60 fps, recent benchmarks indicate that this might not be achievable even with the top-of-the-line NVIDIA RTX 4090 graphics card.

According to John Papadopoulos of DSOGaming, achieving a consistent 60 fps at native 4K resolution with maxed out settings appears to be a challenge for Final Fantasy XVI on PC. This is surprising news considering the RTX 4090 is one of the most powerful consumer graphics cards available on the market.

However, there is a glimmer of hope for PC players. Enabling DLSS III Frame Generation with DLAA can reportedly boost frame rates over 80 fps at all times. DLSS III is a new technology from NVIDIA that uses AI to generate additional frames, essentially creating smoother gameplay. DLAA, on the other hand, is an anti-aliasing technique that can improve image quality without sacrificing performance as much as traditional anti-aliasing methods.
