Forza Horizon 5 Hits PS5 in April

by Sebastian May 05,2025

After last month's announcement that Forza Horizon 5 would be making its way to the PS5 this fall, we now have the exact release dates locked in. If you opt for the Premium Edition, priced at $99.99, you'll get your hands on the game starting April 25. For everyone else, the game will be available starting April 29.

This news comes straight from the official website, which also announced a major update titled Horizon Realms, set to roll out across all platforms on April 25. This update promises to enrich the game with four new cars, a fresh racetrack layout at the Horizon Stadium, and a selection of beloved environments from previous community favorites.

It was confirmed last month that the PS5 version of Forza Horizon 5 will mirror the Xbox and PC editions in content, including Car Packs, the Hot Wheels expansion, and the Rally Adventure expansion.

Forza Horizon 5 is part of a growing list of games previously exclusive to Xbox that are now expanding to PlayStation, following in the footsteps of Sea of Thieves and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Xbox leads the charge among major platform holders in pushing for cross-platform first-party releases. This move sparks broader industry discussions about the viability of exclusives, especially considering the rising costs of game development and how exclusives can cap potential sales.

IGN awarded Forza Horizon 5 a perfect 10/10 upon its Xbox/PC launch, a testament to its excellence. Our reviewer praised it as "the result of a racing studio at the peak of its craft and the best open-world racing game I’ve ever played." PlayStation owners, get ready to dive into what's been hailed as a masterpiece in the racing genre.
