Future Marvel Rivals Seasons Will Feature Half the Content of Season 1

Marvel Rivals Season 1: A Double-Sized Launch Featuring the Fantastic Four

Marvel Rivals is launching its first season, "Eternal Night Falls," on January 10th at 1 AM PST, and it's a big one! Developers have confirmed Season 1 will contain twice the content of a typical season. This expanded content is attributed to the decision to introduce the Fantastic Four simultaneously.

This supersized season will include:

  • Three new maps: The Sanctum Sanctorum (available at launch, featuring the new Doom Match game mode), Midtown (for Convoy missions), and Central Park (details to be revealed later).
  • The Fantastic Four: Mister Fantastic (Duelist) and Invisible Woman (Strategist) debut with the season launch, while The Thing and Human Torch are slated for a mid-season update approximately six to seven weeks later.

The decision to release the Fantastic Four together, according to Creative Director Guangyun Chen, drove the decision to create a larger-than-usual season. While the impact on future seasons' content remains unclear, the current expectation is to continue adding two characters per season.

The absence of Blade, a previously rumored addition, has disappointed some fans. However, the sheer volume of new content in Season 1, and the ongoing speculation surrounding the game, keeps anticipation high for what NetEase Games has planned next.
