"Guide to Obtaining a Mount in Rune Slayer"

by Blake Apr 05,2025

*Rune Slayer* offers a rich MMORPG experience within the *Roblox* platform, complete with quests, crafting, dungeons, and even fishing. A key feature of any MMORPG is the ability to ride a mount, and *Rune Slayer* doesn't disappoint. While the game doesn't explicitly guide you on how to acquire a mount, we're here to walk you through the process step-by-step.

Before You Get a Mount

Before you can speed across the world of *Rune Slayer*, you need to meet two prerequisites:

  • Reach Level 20: This shouldn't take more than a few hours—typically around 5 to 6 hours, or even less if you're playing with friends. Focus on completing quests, taking on jobs, and defeating mobs to level up quickly.
  • Tame a Pet: You'll receive a quest that introduces you to pet taming. Here's how it works:
    • Find an animal you want to tame, such as a Deer, Wolf, or Spider.
    • Attack it once.
    • Hold a food item that the animal likes—Apples for Deer, Raw Deer Meat for Wolves.
    • A heart will appear above the animal's head, indicating the taming attempt.
    • If the heart grows fully, the animal will become your pet. If it turns black, the attempt fails, but don't worry; just try with another animal.

Once you've reached level 20 and tamed a pet, you're ready to proceed to the next step.

Finish the Mount Quest

Upon reaching level 20, head to **Jimmy the Stable Master in Wayshire**. He'll offer you a quest called "Jimmy's Delivery," where you need to deliver a package to the Stable Master in Ashenshire. Accept the quest and head north through Wayshire's northern entrance. Follow the road and climb over the hill into **Greatwood Forest**. Be cautious of the mobs here, as they can be challenging. Continue north until you reach **Ashenshire**, recognizable by the large houses built on top of trees.

Find a rope to climb up to Ashenshire. Once you're up, the first NPC you'll see is **Madonna the Stable Master**. There won't be a quest marker, so simply talk to her and select "I have a package for you." After delivering the package, return to Wayshire by backtracking south.

Upon your return, speak to **Jimmy the Stable Master** again. He'll reward you with a **Saddle**, which won't appear in your inventory to prevent accidental loss or sale.

How to Mount Your Pet in Rune Slayer

With the saddle in hand, summon your pet by holding "T". Approach your pet, and you'll see the "Mount" option. Press "E" to mount your pet. This method works for all mountable pets in the game.

That's all you need to know to start riding your pet and exploring *Rune Slayer* at high speeds. For more tips and tricks, check out our **The Ultimate Beginner's Guide to *Rune Slayer***. If you're interested in fishing, we have a comprehensive guide for that as well.
