I wanted Journey Together to be the breakout hit that followed the momentum of Surging Sparks and Prismatic Evolutions. After two strong sets that delivered exciting pulls and solid value, expectations were high.
But instead of a powerful three-set streak, Journey Together stumbled right out of the gate. From day one, prices were inflated by hype, and now that the initial excitement has faded, the market correction is sharp—some might even call it a crash.

Despite the price drops, Journey Together remains a solid release. The artwork is stunning, the pull experience is fun, and there are plenty of nostalgic nods that fans appreciate. But too many card values were built on speculation and launch-day hype that simply didn’t sustain.
Collectors expected another wave of rapid appreciation—like we saw with earlier sets. That didn’t happen. If you're buying now, you're catching cards on the decline rather than riding an upward trend.
The key is knowing what’s genuinely valuable and what’s still being propped up by leftover launch momentum.

Articuno started strong, peaking at $55 in late March—understandable for a beloved Legendary with standout art. Since then, it's dropped 36% to around $35. Even that feels high. Near-mint copies are listed as low as $18.69, which better reflects its true market value. A great-looking card, yes—but only worth grabbing now if you’re avoiding the early adopter premium.
