February’s Pokémon GO Community Day is set to deliver an exciting spotlight on two intriguing Pokémon—Karrablast and Shelmet. The event will take place on Sunday, February 9th, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm local time, offering Trainers a limited window packed with exclusive features and in-game bonuses.
During the event hours, both Karrablast and Shelmet will appear more frequently in the wild, giving players a prime opportunity to stock up on encounters. Shiny hunters will also have an elevated chance of spotting their rare color variants, making this a must-attend event for collectors and completionists alike.
Evolution Bonuses and Exclusive Charged Attacks
For those who catch enough Karrablast and Shelmet during the event, evolving them will unlock unique charged attacks unavailable through regular evolution methods. Escavalier, the evolved form of Karrablast, will learn Razor Shell—a powerful move with 35 power in Trainer Battles and 55 power in Gyms and Raids. Meanwhile, Accelgor, which evolves from Shelmet, gains Energy Ball, delivering a strong 90 power across all battle formats.
Community Day Special Research
Players looking for extra content can purchase the Community Day Special Research ticket for just $2 (or your local equivalent). This ticket unlocks a themed story experience featuring Karrablast and Shelmet with a special Dual Destiny-themed background. In addition to exclusive encounters, the ticket includes a Premium Battle Pass and Rare Candy XL to help boost your progress.
Free Timed Research and Field Research Rewards
Trainers who log in during the event will gain access to a free Timed Research quest, offering another way to encounter Karrablast and Shelmet while increasing the odds of finding their Shiny forms. Additionally, Community Day-themed Field Research tasks will be available, rewarding players with Stardust, Great Balls, and bonus Pokémon encounters. PokéStop Showcases may also appear, providing alternative ways to participate even if you're not attending in person.
Event Bonuses and Benefits
Throughout the three-hour event window, several gameplay enhancements will be active to maximize your experience. Catching Pokémon will reward triple XP and double Candy, helping you level up faster. Trainers at level 31 and above will enjoy a higher chance of receiving Candy XL. Lure Modules and Incense will last for three hours instead of the usual duration, and trading benefits include one additional Special Trade per day and a 50% reduction in Stardust costs for trades.

To get ready for the event, two exclusive Community Day bundles will become available in the in-game shop. Additionally, the [ttpp]Ultra Community Day Box will launch early on the Pokémon GO Web Store starting February 3rd, allowing dedicated players to prepare ahead of the main event.
