The much-anticipated Lion King ride at Disneyland Paris is set to bring new thrills with the latest images, detailed insights, and a construction start date slated for Fall 2025. As revealed by Disney Parks Blog, this groundbreaking attraction will be a centerpiece of the transformed Walt Disney Studios Park, now to be known as Disney Adventure World. This new water ride will immerse guests in the iconic scenes from the 1994 classic, complemented by a 120-foot-high Pride Rock and an array of dining, shopping, and character meet-and-greet experiences.
Disney has unveiled a captivating concept image of the ride, showcasing Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a meal in a lush jungle setting. This scene is just one segment of an adventure that will also feature a thrilling 52-foot drop, slightly taller than Tiana's Bayou Adventure by two inches. While an exact opening date remains undisclosed, the ride is set to debut following the grand opening of World of Frozen in 2026. This addition is part of the expansive Disney Adventure World, which will effectively double the current park's area.
Alongside the Lion King attraction, guests can anticipate the Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, with Mandy Moore reprising her role as Rapunzel, and the park's first-ever Up-themed attraction. The latter will be a "spinning carousel" offering breathtaking views of the park's scenic landscape.
Opening its doors on May 15, 2025, World Premiere will serve as the glamorous new entrance to Disney Adventure World, evoking the excitement of a Hollywood premiere. Adjacent to this, World Premiere Plaza will draw inspiration from Broadway and London's West End, hosting theaters with performances like TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
