Marvel Rivals Enhances Gameplay with Season 1 Balance Adjustments

Marvel Rivals Season 1: Dracula, Fantastic Four, and Major Balance Changes

NetEase Games unveiled details about Season 1: Eternal Night Falls for Marvel Rivals, including a new villain, roster additions, and significant balance adjustments. Launching January 10th at 1 AM PST, the season introduces Dracula as the primary antagonist and welcomes the Fantastic Four to the playable roster. Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman debut immediately, with Human Torch and The Thing arriving six to seven weeks later.

The Season 1 battle pass, priced at 990 Lattice (approximately $10), offers 10 skins and rewards players with 600 Lattice and 600 Units upon completion. Three new maps and a new game mode, "Doom Match," further enhance the gameplay experience.

A recent developer video highlighted balance changes. Hela and Hawkeye, previously dominant, receive nerfs to curb their overwhelming power in higher-ranked matches. Conversely, mobility-focused Vanguards like Captain America and Venom receive buffs to improve their effectiveness.

Further balance tweaks include buffs for Wolverine and Storm, encouraging more strategic use of these mutants. Cloak and Dagger also see improvements to promote diverse team compositions. Jeff the Land Shark's early warning system will be adjusted to better reflect his ultimate's actual hitbox, though his ultimate ability itself remains largely unchanged despite player feedback.

While NetEase Games remained silent on potential changes to the Seasonal Bonus feature – a point of contention among players – Season 1 promises a wealth of new content and adjustments designed to create a more balanced and engaging experience. The anticipation for launch is high among Marvel Rivals players.
