"Master Fast Travel in Dynasty Warriors Origins: A Guide"

by Mila May 22,2025

While Dynasty Warriors: Origins isn't an open-world game, it does feature a sizable world map that players can explore. Initially, the explorable area is quite small and easy to navigate. However, as you progress through the main story and unlock more provinces, the map can become larger and more cumbersome to navigate. This issue is further complicated by the constant unlocking of new skirmishes and requests, which often require you to backtrack across the map. Fortunately, mastering fast travel in Dynasty Warriors: Origins can significantly save time, especially when tackling all the side content.

How to Fast Travel in Dynasty Warriors: Origins

In Dynasty Warriors: Origins, you can fast travel to different Waymarks by accessing the Map screen. However, you must first unlock a Waymark before you can fast travel to it. To unlock a Waymark, simply approach it on the world map and hold the X button if you're on PlayStation, or the A button if you're using an Xbox controller. Once unlocked, the Waymark will appear on your map, allowing you to fast travel to it at your convenience.

When not engaged in battle, you can open the map by interacting with an unlocked Waymark on the world map or by pausing the game and cycling to the Map menu using the shoulder buttons. If you're playing on PlayStation, you can quickly access the map by pressing the DualSense touchpad while on the world map screen, saving you precious seconds.

Once you're on the map screen, hovering over an unlocked Waymark will display nearby key locations or battles. If you're searching for a specific battle or location, press the Square button on PlayStation or the X button on Xbox to toggle information. Then, use the Triangle button on PlayStation or the Y button on Xbox to cycle through a list of available battles and locations. Select the one you want, and the cursor will move to the nearest Waymark, making your navigation smoother and more efficient.
