"Mastering the Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia: A Guide"

by Savannah May 28,2025

Venturing into the eerie world of *Phasmophobia* to hunt down the most notorious ghosts often requires embracing the risks associated with Cursed Possessions. Among these, the Haunted Mirror stands out as a particularly useful tool, albeit one that comes with its own set of dangers. If you're hesitant about using it, let's break down how it functions and what you need to know.

How to Use the Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia

Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia

The Haunted Mirror is considered one of the safer Cursed Objects in *Phasmophobia*, offering significant rewards with minimal risk. Its functionality has remained consistent across the game's numerous updates, making it a valuable asset during your investigations. If you come across the Haunted Mirror, using it is highly recommended.

The Haunted Mirror provides a panoramic view of the ghost's current favorite room or area on the map. This feature is invaluable if you're familiar with the map's layout, as it allows you to pinpoint the ghost's location quickly and efficiently set up your equipment before the investigation escalates into danger.

You'll typically find the Haunted Mirror hanging on a wall, such as in 6 Tanglewood Drive, or lying on the floor in its designated spot. While Cursed Objects spawn in the same location on each map, the specific object that appears is randomized.

To utilize the Haunted Mirror, simply pick it up and use the appropriate button (mouse or controller) to hold it up. The reflection will show you the ghost's current favorite room. Keep in mind that on Professional difficulty or higher, the ghost can move to a different area after some time.

However, be cautious not to gaze into the mirror for too long, as it will drain your sanity. If you hold it up until it shatters, a Cursed Hunt will initiate at your location. Therefore, use the Haunted Mirror when your sanity is high and quickly interpret what you see in the reflection.

What are Cursed Objects (Possessions) in Phasmophobia?

Cursed Possessions, often referred to as "Cursed Objects," are unique items in *Phasmophobia* that randomly appear on any map, depending on the difficulty settings or if you're playing Challenge Mode.

Unlike regular equipment, which helps locate the ghost and gather evidence with minimal risk, Cursed Objects offer shortcuts or cheats to manipulate the ghost's behavior. However, these come with significantly higher risks to your character.

Some Cursed Objects are safer than others, based on their abilities. The decision to use them lies with you and your team, and there's no penalty for choosing not to. Only one Cursed Possession will spawn per contract, unless you modify the settings in Custom mode.

There are seven different Cursed Objects available in *Phasmophobia*: Summoning Circle, Haunted Mirror, Voodoo Doll, Music Box, Tarot Cards, Ouija Board, and Monkey Paw.

That wraps up our guide on how to use the Haunted Mirror in *Phasmophobia*. For more insights and the latest updates on *Phasmophobia*, including the 2025 Roadmap & Preview, be sure to visit The Escapist.
