Metroid Prime Artbook: A Nintendo x Piggyback CollaborationNintendo, Retro Studios, and Piggyback are joining forces to release a stunning Metroid Prime art book in Summer 2025. This exciting collaboration offers a behind-the-scenes look at the development of the acclaimed Metroid Prime series.

A Visual Retrospective of Metroid Prime (1-3)

Celebrating 20 Years of Metroid Prime

Nintendo and Piggyback, a renowned guidebook publisher, have partnered to create Metroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Retrospective. Retro Studios, the masterminds behind the series, are also integral to this project, contributing invaluable insights into the series' two-decade-long history.

This art book showcases a rich collection of "drawings, sketches, and assorted illustrations from the Metroid Prime series," as described on Piggyback's website. It's more than just a visual feast; it provides crucial context and perspective on the creation of Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, and the recently released Metroid Prime Remastered.

Metroid Prime Artbook: Developer Sketches and MoreBeyond the high-quality artwork and developer sketches, the book includes:

  • A foreword by Kensuke Tanabe, producer of Metroid Prime.
  • Introductions to each game penned by Retro Studios.
  • Producer anecdotes, commentary, and insights on the artwork.
  • Premium materials: stitch-bound, sheet-fed art paper with a cloth hardcover featuring a metallic foil Samus etching.
  • Available in a single (hardcover) edition.

With 212 pages of exclusive content, readers will gain unparalleled insight into the development of these four iconic games and the inspirations behind them. The art book is priced at £39.99 / €44.99 / A$74.95. While not yet available for purchase, keep an eye on Piggyback's website for updates.

Piggyback's Track Record with Nintendo

Piggyback's Previous Nintendo CollaborationsThis isn't Piggyback's first collaboration with Nintendo. They previously produced official guides for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, providing comprehensive walkthroughs, collectible locations, and quest solutions for Hyrule's vast landscapes. The BOTW guide even included complete coverage of its DLC expansions.

Piggyback's proven ability to create visually stunning and informative guides for major Zelda titles promises a similarly high-quality experience for the upcoming Metroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Retrospective art book.
