"Monster Hunter Wilds Mod: Unlimited Character, Palico Edits Now Available"

by Natalie May 21,2025

Monster Hunter Wilds players have likely spent the weekend diving into the many hunts and activities available in the game. Meanwhile, PC modders have been hard at work addressing one of the early frustrations with Wilds: the limitation imposed by Character Edit Vouchers.

Both Character Edit Vouchers and Palico Edit Vouchers made a return in Monster Hunter Wilds, much to the disappointment of both new and longtime players. However, PC modders have already crafted a solution to bypass this system, allowing for unlimited character and Palico edits. This community-driven fix was anticipated by PC players, as modders have previously tackled similar issues in earlier Monster Hunter games. The mod is straightforward, enabling players to access the character creation screen without needing vouchers. While minor edits like hair and makeup are freely available, more extensive changes typically require a voucher, but this mod eliminates that necessity.

Given the history of the series, Monster Hunter Wilds is expected to attract significant attention from the modding community. Typically, modders focus on enhancing cosmetics, improving the user interface, adjusting drop rates, or boosting performance, with the latter likely to be a focal point for Wilds.

Capcom has already addressed performance issues on PC, releasing a troubleshooting guide to assist players facing difficulties. The discussions have continued over the launch weekend on the Monster Hunter subreddit's Performance Megathread, where users collaborate to optimize the game's settings.

Despite these challenges, players are eagerly engaging with Monster Hunter Wilds. Capcom's latest installment has shattered Steam's concurrent player count record, setting a new benchmark for the series. As time progresses post-launch, it will be interesting to see how players continue to interact with and modify the game.
