Bandai Namco made a major announcement last night, focusing on the small but significant details—specifically, Little Nightmares 3, which is confirmed for an October 10 release. If that feels like a long wait, there's good news: anyone who pre-orders the digital version of Little Nightmares 3 will receive early access to Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, letting you revisit the original game between now and launch day.
Additionally, a brand-new season of the Little Nightmares-inspired podcast series, The Sounds of Nightmares, is on the way, along with a comic book—Little Nightmares: Descent to Nowhere—also launching in October. Before that, a young adult novel titled Little Nightmares: The Lonely Ones arrives in September. Quite a lineup, right?
The comic book, published by Titan Comics, Little Nightmares: Descent to Nowhere, follows two parallel storylines. Hush, a timid mute girl, awakens in a prison cell. Eager to break free, she teams up with another inmate, Mono, who has a deeper understanding of this eerie world. Together, they must navigate their escape from a menacing dungeon.
Meanwhile, the novel Little Nightmares: The Lonely Ones, written by E.C. Myers and published by Scholastic, introduces Ruse, a young child who wakes in a strange, trembling room alongside two unfamiliar children—a small girl with a frayed rope hanging from her neck and a gaunt boy wearing a tattered mask over his mouth and nose.
There’s another exciting reveal: Bandai Namco also shared a teaser for a stop-motion project created in partnership with Taller del Chucho studio. While details are still under wraps, the company promises more information will be shared at a later date.
Little Nightmares 3—the first series entry developed by Supermassive—is set to launch on PC, PS5, Switch 2, Xbox Series X and S, and last-gen platforms, including Nintendo Switch. All versions except the Switch are available for pre-order now (Switch pre-orders will open at a "later date"). Here’s what’s included in each edition of Little Nightmares 3:
All Little Nightmares 3 Editions
Standard Edition – includes the base game
Digital Deluxe Edition – includes the base game, the Secrets of The Spiral Expansion Pass, and the Residents Costumes Pack
Collector Mirror Edition – adds to the Deluxe Edition content with a figurine, metal case, physical artbook, digital and physical OST, and stickers
Premium Collector Spiral Edition – exclusive to the Bandai Namco Store, featuring the Collector Mirror Edition figurine enhanced with a music box base, a Nome controller/phone holder, and a double-sided coin of Low and Alone.
Every pre-order includes the Dark Six Costumes Set across all platforms, plus early access to Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition. We also learned that the Secrets of The Spiral Expansion Pass will include at least two additional explorable chapters.
And there's more—we also got a sneak peek at an all-new VR adventure titled Little Nightmares VR: Altered Echoes, developed by Iconik Studios.
We previously found Little Nightmares 2 to be a strong follow-up, giving it a 7/10 and noting: "Little Nightmares 2 is every bit as dark, atmospheric, and visually stunning as the original. However, it remains just as short, and while reintroducing Six as an AI companion serves the narrative, her presence doesn’t bring new depth to puzzles or stealth—a missed opportunity for innovation."
