Nintendo Today App: A New Hub for Fans' News and Content

by Patrick Apr 01,2025

Nintendo Today is a fresh app directly from the creators of Super Mario Bros., designed to deliver Nintendo news more swiftly and efficiently to fans. Announced by video game icon Shigeru Miyamoto at the tail end of the March 2025 Nintendo Direct, this new mobile application is now available for download on both the Apple App Store and Google Play, packed with exciting features for avid Nintendo enthusiasts.

Serving as a comprehensive hub, Nintendo Today functions as both a daily calendar and a real-time news feed, ensuring players receive updates as soon as they're available. Miyamoto highlighted that following the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, users can log into the app to stay updated, with new content promised on a daily basis.

PlayThis approach offers a more immediate connection than traditional Nintendo Directs, encouraging fans to stay engaged with the latest news, even during quieter periods. As you navigate through the app, you'll be greeted by familiar faces from the Nintendo universe, such as characters from Mario, Pikmin, and Animal Crossing, enhancing your daily experience. The app's feed will not only provide news but also feature exclusive Nintendo-themed content. Examples showcased include a Pikmin 4 comic titled "Too Stuck to Pluck" and insightful "Pearls of Wisdom" from Pascal, the shell-cracking otter from Animal Crossing.

While Nintendo Today might not be the blockbuster reveal like a new Zelda or Super Smash Bros. game, it serves as an additional platform for fans to stay connected.
