by Jack May 20,2025

Attention all Death Stranding enthusiasts! Brace yourselves for an exhilarating update: the much-anticipated sequel, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, is slated for release in June. In a recent interview with IGN, the franchise's leading star, Norman Reedus, not only teased the upcoming game but also dropped intriguing hints about the forthcoming film adaptation. This adaptation, helmed by Michael Sarnoski and backed by A24, is still in its very early stages, but Reedus expressed enthusiasm about potentially playing himself in the movie, stating, "If it was an option, yeah, for sure. I don’t know what’s happening with it. It’s so pre pre pre right now. But yeah, of course."

During the interview, Reedus also shared his thoughts on the complexity of the game series. He admitted to feeling initially perplexed by the first game but expressed unwavering trust in the visionary creator, Hideo Kojima. "As far as working with him and understanding where his head’s at, I don’t think anybody can understand where his head’s at," Reedus remarked. He praised Kojima's unique approach and ideas, noting that the sequel offers more clarity in its narrative and includes increased action and a more defined goal.

Despite the intricacies and wild nature of the Death Stranding universe, Reedus remains enthusiastic and committed to the project. "It’s always a trip working on those things," he shared with IGN. "It’s great, but it’s wild."

Mark your calendars: Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is set to launch on June 26, 2025. Stay tuned for more updates as we journey deeper into this fascinating world crafted by Hideo Kojima and brought to life by Norman Reedus.
