Fabled Game Studio's highly anticipated sequel, Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage, is set to launch in 2025 on Android, iOS, Steam, and Epic Games Store. This roguelike deck-builder expands upon its popular predecessor with exciting new features.
An open beta test is currently underway on Steam (October 25th-31st), with mobile availability to follow. Before you embark on this new seafaring adventure, let's explore the key improvements.
What's New in Pirates Outlaws 2?
Pirates Outlaws 2 introduces a new hero with a backstory set years after the original game. This hero starts with unique pre-built decks and abilities. The game also introduces companions, each contributing their own special cards. A new card fusion mechanic allows players to combine three identical cards into a more powerful version.
Deck progression is handled via an evolution tree, offering strategic choices for upgrading cards. The concept of "trash" cards is eliminated, as all cards can now be upgraded. Relic acquisition is also revamped; instead of appearing after every battle, relics are found in markets, after boss fights, or during special events.
Battles feature a new countdown system influencing enemy actions. The "End Turn" button is replaced with a "Redraw" mechanic. A new armor and shield system adds another layer of strategic depth.

Ready to Set Sail?
Despite the additions, Pirates Outlaws 2 retains the core gameplay of its predecessor. Players will still engage in deck-building, navigate the seas, and battle through Arena and Campaign modes. Classic features like ammo management, melee/ranged/skill card combos, curses, and diverse enemy races remain. Visit the official website for more details.
