"Pokemon TCG Pocket Announces Exciting Future Expansions"

Summary

  • Pack Hourglasses will continue to be used for future Pokemon TCG Pocket expansions, reducing booster pack opening delays.
  • With Pack Hourglasses expected to remain relevant in upcoming expansions, players can continue stockpiling them.

The Pokemon Company has officially confirmed that Pokemon TCG Pocket Pack Hourglasses will remain a key feature in future expansions, dispelling recent rumors that suggested otherwise. These rumors claimed the next expansion would render Pack Hourglasses obsolete, but The Pokemon Company has clarified that these tools will indeed continue to be useful.

Pokemon TCG Pocket, launched in October 2024, has largely replaced the Pokemon TCG Live mobile game for many enthusiasts. Since its debut, the game has seen the addition of the Mythical Island booster pack, introducing 68 new cards for players to collect. The initial Genetic Apex packs already included 226 cards spread across three packs, and some players had unlocked all cards by the time Mythical Island was introduced. With another expansion rumored for January, speculation arose about the utility of Pack Hourglasses, but The Pokemon Company's recent statement has put those concerns to rest.

According to a report by Screen Rant, The Pokemon Company confirmed that Pack Hourglasses will continue to reduce the delay between booster pack openings by one hour, regardless of the expansion. This announcement came in response to rumors about a new currency potentially replacing Pack Hourglasses. While The Pokemon Company did not rule out the possibility of new currencies in the future, they firmly stated that the upcoming 2025 expansion will still utilize Pack Hourglasses. This news allows players to continue accumulating these hourglasses for use with future packs.

Pokemon TCG Pocket Pack Hourglasses Are Here to Stay

Without Pack Hourglasses, players can earn Pack Stamina by waiting for 12-hour intervals, enabling them to open two Pokemon TCG Pocket booster packs daily. Pack Hourglasses can be earned by completing daily challenges and opening the Complimentary Item Set in the shop, which refreshes daily. Each Pack Hourglass speeds up the Pack Stamina process by one hour, with a full set of 12 hourglasses required to bypass the 12-hour intervals entirely. In addition to Pack Hourglasses, Pokemon TCG Pocket offers a variety of other currencies, including Wonder Hourglasses, Special, Event, and standard Shop Tickets, Poke Gold, Pack Points, and more.

The recent rumors about the potential obsolescence of Pack Hourglasses in the next expansion had caused some concern among players. However, this latest announcement from The Pokemon Company should reassure fans that their stockpile of Pack Hourglasses will continue to be valuable. As Pokemon TCG Pocket evolves with ongoing updates and expansions, the game's future looks promising, provided it maintains its current level of success.
