Pokémon TCG Pocket Unveils Trading Innovations

by Mia Feb 26,2025

Pokémon TCG Pocket is adding a new trading system! This highly anticipated feature, launching later this month, will let players exchange cards with friends, mimicking real-life trading.

A key limitation is that only cards of the same rarity (1-4 stars) can be traded, and only between friends. Furthermore, the cards used in a trade are consumed; you won't retain a copy after trading.

The developers plan to monitor the system's performance post-launch and make adjustments as needed.

A Balanced Approach to Digital Trading

While potential issues may arise, this trading implementation is a solid first step for a digital TCG. The developers' commitment to post-launch assessment and adjustments is reassuring.

Some rarity tiers may be excluded from trading, and consumable currency might be required – details to be confirmed upon release.
