As Rainbow Six Siege celebrates its tenth year, Ubisoft is ushering the game into a new era with the introduction of Siege X. Announced during today's presentation, Siege X is poised to revolutionize the game much like CS2 did for CS:GO. Set to launch on June 10, Siege X will transition the game to a free-to-play model, making it accessible to a broader audience.
Key Changes in Siege X:
New Mode: Dual Front – This innovative 6v6 format blends attack and defense operators into a thrilling new experience. Teams aim to capture enemy zones and plant sabotage devices across a map divided into multiple areas—three zones per team, alongside a central neutral zone. Players can respawn 30 seconds after being eliminated, keeping the action continuous and intense.
Advanced Rappel System – A significant gameplay enhancement, the new rappel system allows players to move both vertically and horizontally using ropes, adding a strategic depth to how players navigate and attack.
Increased Environmental Destruction – The trailer highlighted new destructible elements such as fire extinguishers and gas pipes, which players can strategically blow up to gain an advantage or create chaos on the battlefield.
Reworks for Five Popular Maps – Ubisoft is revamping five beloved maps with major updates, promising fresh gameplay experiences on familiar grounds.
Graphical & Audio Enhancements – Players can expect a significant upgrade in both visuals and sound, enhancing the immersive experience of Siege X.
Improved Anti-Cheat & Toxicity Measures – Ubisoft is committed to fostering a healthier gaming community by refining the anti-cheat system and implementing stronger measures against toxic behavior.
In addition to these exciting updates, Ubisoft has announced a closed beta for Siege X, which will run over the next seven days. Players interested in getting an early taste of the new features can participate by watching Siege streams.
