Romancing SaGa Re:universe Goes Offline, End-of-Service Date Announced

Romancing SaGa Re:universe's global server is closing on December 2nd, 2024. While this might not come as a complete shock to some, the Japanese version will continue operation.

Two Months Remain

The game's global shutdown is confirmed for December. In-app purchases using paid jewels and Google Play Points exchanges have already ceased following the September 29th, 2024 maintenance.

Launched in June 2020, the global version concludes its four-year run. Despite impressive visuals, a strong soundtrack, and a generous gacha system, reception was mixed.

Unlike its successful Japanese counterpart, the global version faced criticism for omitting significant content, such as the Solistia region and 6-star unit upgrades – updates enjoyed by Japanese players for nearly a year. This content gap significantly impacted player retention for many.

Your Thoughts?

Square Enix, the developer, has already shuttered several titles this year, including Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius and two Dragon Quest mobile games, adding Romancing SaGa Re:universe (global) to the list.

This turn-based RPG, based on the classic SaGa series, offers players two months to enjoy or experience the game before its closure. Download it now from the Google Play Store.
