Star Wars Celebration has unveiled our first glimpse of Rory McCann stepping into the role of Baylan Skoll for Season 2 of *Ahsoka*. For those new to the series, McCann is now portraying Baylan, a character originally brought to life by the late Ray Stevenson, who passed away from a brief illness just three months before the premiere of *Ahsoka*.
Although we haven't seen McCann in action yet, the *Ahsoka* panel at Star Wars Celebration provided us with an exclusive first-look image, which you can view below.
Ray Stevenson, known for his roles in *Thor*, *RRR*, *Punisher: War Zone*, *Rome*, and more, was celebrated for his compelling portrayal of Baylan, which many fans consider a highlight of the series so far.
Ahsoka series creator Dave Filoni expressed that losing Ray was one of the most significant challenges in crafting Season 2, emphasizing Stevenson's incredible presence both on and off the screen, describing him as "the most beautiful person on screen and off."
During the panel, Filoni and the team also shared insights into what fans can anticipate in Season 2, including the return of Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, along with beloved characters like Admiral Ackbar, Zeb, Chopper, and others.
In our review of the first season of *Ahsoka*, we noted that it "initially struggles to bring viewers up to speed on characters and concepts from Dave Filoni's animated Star Wars series. However, once the narrative and characters are given room to breathe, *Ahsoka* delivers a captivating blend of deep lore, humor, and epic battles, echoing the essence of classic Star Wars while paving the way for fresh storytelling."
