Sonic Rumble, though yet to be globally released, has already kicked off an exciting crossover event named Crossover Event #0: SEGA Stars. This event is currently live and will run until May 7th, right before the game's worldwide launch on May 8th. Currently in soft launch, Sonic Rumble is accessible in over 40 countries. It underwent pre-launch phases in Summer 2024, initially rolling out in regions such as the Philippines, Scandinavian countries, and Colombia, followed by a second phase in places like Canada, Turkey, Malaysia, and South Africa.
What's in Store?
If you're located in one of the regions where Sonic Rumble soft-launched, you're in for a treat with the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars crossover. Fans of Altered Beast will be thrilled to see the Werewolf transformation available at no cost. For those who cherish the nostalgic beast modes, the Werebear and Weredragon can also be yours, though the method of acquisition varies. The Weredragon comes with the Premium Pass, while the Werebear may be purchased with regular rings.
Adding to the excitement, characters from Fantasy Zone, Opa-Opa and Upa-Upa, join the fray. Opa-Opa is part of the Premium Pass, whereas Upa-Upa can be obtained through fragments, purchasable with standard rings at 700 rings per fragment.
Super Monkey Ball's AiAi and MeeMee have also made their way into this crossover. To get AiAi, you'll need 729 Red Star Rings. For a visual of the event, check out the video below.
Earn Exclusive Goodies During the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars Crossover
During the event, players can earn additional rewards by collecting SEGA logos during matches. Although it might seem odd that the event is running before the global release, SEGA has assured that most of these pre-release rewards will be available again post-launch.
The inclusion of a wide range of SEGA characters from different eras adds a rich layer to Sonic Rumble, making it an eagerly anticipated title. From monkeys to mythical creatures, this crossover showcases the potential and excitement surrounding Sonic Rumble.
You can download the game from the Google Play Store if it's available in your region, or look forward to its global release on May 8th.
