The Sims Labs: Town Stories brings another spinoff of the hit life sim to mobile, now in soft launch

The Sims Labs: Town Stories is a fresh release now in soft launch from EA and Maxis.
It builds on the Sims formula with a touch of SimCity-style city building.
Meet and interact with other Sims while uncovering new events, stories, and happenings in Plumbrook.

With the launch of The Sims Labs: Life Together, I couldn’t be the only one curious about the title. Now, it seems we have an answer—thanks to the soft launch of a brand-new title under The Sims Labs banner. This time, the focus shifts to Town Stories, where you’re not just managing a household, but an entire town.

Currently available on iOS and Android in Australia, the Philippines, and South Africa, Town Stories puts you in charge of revitalizing the struggling town of Plumbrook. You’ll still be able to create your own Sims, customize their homes, and enjoy all the classic franchise features—but now there’s a stronger emphasis on connecting with established characters.

Characters like Bella Goth (a familiar face to longtime fans), Ms. Nichola Vogue, and Gizmo Cogspin each have unique roles and stories waiting to be discovered.

Don't be a gossip

Secrets, drama, and lively gossip are central to Town Stories too. It’s easy to spot Maxis and EA’s inspiration—this feels like the latest in a long line of merge or match puzzle games.

What sets it apart, though, is the blend of classic Sims-style gameplay and the addition of SimCity-inspired town building, letting you shape your own version of Plumbrook as you restore it. While Life Together drew a quieter reaction, this feels like a far more compelling release—one we hope to play soon.

In the meantime, if daily life feels overwhelming, why not dive into the life sim genre? We’ve ranked the best mobile games like Stardew Valley for our top picks, just like this modern classic.
