The announcement of the shutdown of *Star Wars: Hunters* before it even completes a year is a bitter pill for fans. However, the game will reach its one-year anniversary before the curtains finally close. The question remains: Is it worth celebrating the anniversary of a game on its way out?
When Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown?
----------------------------------------Mark your calendars: the servers for *Star Wars: Hunters* are scheduled to shut down on October 1st, 2025, marking the end of the road after just nine months since its launch. Players have until April 15th to wrap up Season 5, as that's when it concludes.
Zynga, the developer and publisher behind the game, is rolling out a final content update on April 15th. This update will introduce Tuya, the last new Support Hunter, available for free. On the same day, in-game purchases will be disabled, signaling the beginning of the end.
Ranked Mode will remain active until the servers go offline, and previous seasonal events will be rerun. If you have any unspent Crystals, now's the time to use them, as there will be no refunds offered.
It Isn’t Shocking
-----------------While it's sad to see *Star Wars: Hunters* go, the writing was on the wall from the beginning. Announced back in 2020, the game faced multiple delays and limited beta testing only in the SEA and ANZAC regions. The lack of major console support and a tepid reception further sealed its fate.
From a design perspective, the game missed a golden opportunity. With the rich tapestry of Star Wars lore, the choice to focus on generic original characters rather than the galaxy's beloved legends felt like a misstep.
If you've uninstalled *Star Wars: Hunters* but want to experience it one last time, the game is still available for download on the Google Play Store until the shutdown date.
