At the recent Star Wars Celebration, fans were treated to exciting news about the future of the Star Wars: Visions series. It was announced that Volume 3 will premiere on October 29, 2025, exclusively on Disney+. This new volume will feature nine captivating short films, each crafted by a different Japanese anime studio. The lineup includes renowned studios such as Studio Trigger, famous for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, WIT Studio known for Attack on Titan, as well as David Production, Kamikaze Douga, ANIMA, Kinema citrus Co., Polygon Pictures, Production I.G., and Project Studio Q. This diverse group promises to bring fresh and innovative storytelling to the Star Wars universe.

Three episodes in Volume 3 will continue stories from previous seasons, including Kamikaze Douga's "The Duel," Kinema citrus Co.'s "The Village Bride," and Production I.G.'s "The Ninth Jedi." The latter has sparked even more excitement with the announcement of a new spin-off series centered around "The Ninth Jedi." This series will delve deeper into the story of Kara, the protagonist from the original short, and will offer longer narratives within the expansive Star Wars: Visions universe. Kenji Kamiyama, the writer and director behind "The Ninth Jedi," shared insights about the upcoming spin-off during Star Wars Celebration, hinting at an exciting continuation of Kara's journey.

Adding to the anticipation, it was revealed that Kara will appear alongside Juro in the upcoming 'Child of Hope' episode in Volume 3. While specific details about the spin-off are still under wraps, fans can look forward to more immersive storytelling and character development.
