T-1000 Gameplay in Mortal Kombat 1 Echoes Terminator 2, Surprise Kameo DLC Revealed

by Mila Apr 23,2025

NetherRealm Studios has unveiled the first gameplay footage for the T-1000, the latest DLC guest character in *Mortal Kombat 1*, alongside the announcement of Madam Bo as a new DLC Kameo fighter. The T-1000, brought to life with the voice and likeness of Robert Patrick from *Terminator 2*, showcases a variety of iconic attacks that evoke memories of the film. Fans can expect to see the T-1000 wielding blade and hook arms, reminiscent of moves by Baraka and Kabal, and even morphing into a liquid metal blob to execute an uppercut similar to Glacius from *Killer Instinct*.

The gameplay teaser includes a thrilling confrontation between the T-1000 and Johnny Cage, culminating in a Fatality that recreates the memorable truck chase scene from *Terminator 2*. The T-1000 emerges from the driver's seat in liquid form and unleashes a barrage of bullets at Cage, adding a dramatic flair to the game's already intense combat.

In a surprising twist, NetherRealm announced that Madam Bo, a beloved character from the *Mortal Kombat 1* storyline, will join the game as a Kameo fighter. Known for her fierce defense against Smoke and his thugs in the base story, Madam Bo's gameplay was teased briefly alongside the T-1000's showcase, highlighting her potential as a powerful assist character.

The T-1000 will be available starting March 18 for early access to *Khaos Reigns* owners, with general availability for purchase on March 25. Madam Bo will be accessible on March 18 as a free update for *Khaos Reigns* owners or as a standalone purchase. The T-1000 marks the final addition to the *Khaos Reigns* expansion, following other notable fighters like Cyrax, Sektor, Noob Saibot, Ghostface, and Conan the Barbarian.

Amid speculation about future content and the game's sales performance, fans have been curious about the possibility of a *Kombat Pack 3*. However, Warner Bros. Discovery remains committed to the *Mortal Kombat* franchise. CEO David Zaslav has expressed plans to focus on just four key titles, with *Mortal Kombat* being one of them. Additionally, NetherRealm's Ed Boon has assured continued support for *Mortal Kombat 1*, while hinting at the studio's next project, which many believe could be a new entry in the *Injustice* series.

Madam Bo is coming to Mortal Kombat 1 as a Kameo fighter.

The Injustice series, which began with Injustice: Gods Among Us in 2013 and continued with Injustice 2 in 2017, has been on fans' minds, especially since NetherRealm released Mortal Kombat 11 in 2019 and then Mortal Kombat 1 in 2023, deviating from the expected alternating pattern between the two franchises. Boon has cited various reasons for this shift, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the transition to a newer version of the Unreal game engine. Despite these changes, Boon has firmly stated that the door is not closed on the Injustice franchise, keeping fans hopeful for future developments.
