Tank-tastic IRL Adventure: "WoT Blitz" Embarks on Graffitied Tank Tour

by Liam Dec 20,2024

World of Tanks Blitz launches a unique marketing campaign: a cross-country road trip with a real tank! This decommissioned, graffiti-covered vehicle is touring the US to celebrate the game's recent collaboration with Deadmau5.

The street-legal tank, promoting the Deadmau5 in-game event, has already made a splash at The Game Awards in Los Angeles. Fans who spotted and photographed the tank have a chance to win exclusive merchandise.

The Deadmau5 collaboration in World of Tanks Blitz is now live, offering players the chance to acquire the exclusive Mau5tank—a tank featuring lights, speakers, and music—along with themed quests, camos, and cosmetic items.

The campaign's playful approach to game promotion is noteworthy. While some serious military simulation enthusiasts might disapprove, the stunt is undeniably attention-grabbing and fun, especially during the winter months. It's a lighthearted marketing strategy that stands out from the crowd, even compared to similar campaigns by other companies, including breweries.
