This update marks a unique collaboration with Gansu Province's Culture & Tourism, integrating the allure of detective work with the cultural richness of Dunhuang, a historic city on the edge of the Gobi Desert. The Ballad of the Dunes event brings a captivating blend of history, romance, and mystery set against the backdrop of the ancient Silk Road.
What Does Ballad of the Dunes Bring to Tears of Themis?
The event introduces players to an immersive world where they can solve mysteries amidst the ancient vibes of the Silk Road. The update includes four new MR cards, each featuring one of the beloved characters—Luke, Artem, Vyn, and Marius—styled to reflect different aspects of Dunhuang's rich culture. You'll encounter flying apsaras, detailed murals, and the iconic back-played pipa, reminiscent of the ancient performers in the Mogao Caves. This digital homage to the Silk Road's cultural melting pot from the Western Han Dynasty (202 BC–8 AD) enriches the gameplay experience.
Each card tells its own unique story: Luke's "In the Footsteps of Silk," Artem's "Serenade of the Soul," Vyn's "Reverberation Through Time," and Marius's "Void of Creation." These cards not only enhance your collection but also come with Private Messages that delve into a thousand-year journey.
What Are the Rewards?
From February 13th to February 20th, 2025, players can earn rewards like Camel Bells, S-Chips, and more by completing event tasks. The main challenge involves flipping cells on a game board to uncover these rewards. The highlight of the event is the chance to obtain the Ballad of the Dunes MR card pack. Players can select one of the four MR cards as their final reward in each round. Achieving 100 flips on the board grants the exclusive Celebration – Dunes Namecard.
