Game of Thrones: Kingsroad Mobile RPG Beta Test Announced

Netmarble's upcoming mobile RPG, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, has unveiled a new gameplay trailer and details about its closed beta test. This action-adventure game, set during the show's fourth season, promises engaging combat and a rich narrative experience.

The closed beta, running from January 16th to 22nd, 2025, in the US, Canada, and select European regions, offers fans an early look at the game before its full release later this year. Players can register via the game's official website.

Kingsroad features class-based progression with fully manual controls, allowing players to master various character types, including knights and assassins. The game boasts an original storyline centered around a new character, the heir to House Tyrell in the North. Popular characters like Jon Snow, Jaime Lannister, and Drogon will also appear.

The recently released trailer showcases the game's impressive graphics and combat system, described by Netmarble as "raw, aggressive, and destructive." Drawing on the rich lore and characters created by George R.R. Martin and the HBO series, Kingsroad aims to deliver a compelling story-driven mobile experience. Its class-based system, original storyline, and inclusion of iconic characters suggest a potentially high-quality mobile title. The game’s setting in the fourth season of the show is now officially confirmed. Inspiration for original characters is drawn from Wildlings, Dothraki, and the Faceless Men.

While fans eagerly await the next installment in the A Song of Ice and Fire book series, The Winds of Winter, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad provides a substantial interim experience for fans to enjoy, alongside other projects like A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and House of the Dragon season 3.
