As the Capcom Pro Tour takes a break, we now know all 48 participants set to compete in Capcom Cup 11. While the focus is usually on the world's best players, let's shift our attention to the characters they've chosen to battle with in Street Fighter 6. Following the conclusion of the World Warrior circuit, EventHubs provided insightful statistics on the most popular characters at the top competitive level, offering a glimpse into the game's balance. Remarkably, all 24 current fighters in the roster were represented among nearly two hundred players, with the eight finalists from 24 regions taken into account. Notably, only one player opted for Ryu, while the newest character, Terry Bogard, was chosen by two players.
Currently, the most popular characters on the professional scene are Cammy, Ken, and M. Bison, each selected by 17 players. A significant drop follows, with the next tier featuring Akuma, chosen by 12 players, and Ed and Luke, both selected by 11. JP and Chun-Li follow closely, each with 10 players. Among the less popular choices, Zangief, Guile, and Juri stand out, as each was the main character for seven players.
Capcom Cup 11 is slated to take place this March in Tokyo, where the winner will take home a staggering prize of one million dollars. This event promises to showcase not only the skill of the world's top players but also the strategic use of these beloved Street Fighter 6 characters.
