Wingspan Asia Expansion Launches This Year: New Cards and Modes Added

Get ready, strategy game enthusiasts! The beloved board game turned digital, Wingspan, is soaring to new heights with its upcoming Asia Expansion, slated for release later this year. Although the precise launch date remains under wraps, the excitement is palpable with the promise of new feathered friends, an innovative game mode, and breathtaking Asian landscapes.

Here Are the Full Details on Wingspan Asia Expansion

The Wingspan Asia Expansion is set to enrich your gameplay with a stunning array of new birds from across Asia, including India, China, and Japan. Each bird comes with unique abilities and intriguing trivia, adding depth and diversity to your collection. This expansion introduces 13 new bonus cards, with two specifically tailored for Automa, enhancing the solo play experience.

Visually, the expansion doesn't disappoint. It features four new, beautifully designed backgrounds inspired by Asia's diverse landscapes, alongside eight new player portraits that reflect local cultural elements, immersing you further into the game's world.

A major highlight is the introduction of the Duet Mode, a thrilling one-on-one Wingspan experience. You and your opponent will compete on a special Duet Map, vying for habitat spaces and striving to meet different end-of-round objectives, adding a fresh competitive edge to your gameplay.

The auditory experience is also getting an upgrade with the inclusion of four new, relaxing music tracks composed by Paweł Górniak. These will perfectly complement your bird-watching and strategic planning sessions.

Tried the Game Yet?

If you haven't yet experienced the charm of Wingspan, you're in for a treat. Originally adapted from Elizabeth Hargrave's acclaimed card-based board game, the digital version debuted on PC in 2020, with mobile versions following in 2021. In Wingspan, you'll attract a variety of birds to your wildlife preserve, each contributing to a chain of strategic combinations.

With a finite number of turns, you'll meticulously develop your nature preserve, managing food resources, egg-laying, and card draws. The birds you choose mimic their real-life behaviors: hawks hunt, pelicans fish, and geese form flocks, bringing the natural world to life within the game.

While you await the Wingspan: Asia Expansion, dive into the existing European and Oceania expansions available on the Google Play Store.
