The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women’s Invitational (MWI) is set to make a thrilling comeback in Riyadh in July 2025, following an unforgettable conclusion to the 2024 Esports World Cup. Last year's event was marked by an astonishing upset when Smart Omega Empress dethroned the long-reigning champions, Team Vitality, ending their impressive three-year, 24-tournament winning streak in the Grand Final.
This year, the competition is set to be even more intense, with 16 of the world's premier all-women MLBB teams vying for supremacy and a historic prize pool. The tournament will span from July 15th to 19th, starting with a double-elimination Group Stage involving all qualified teams. The top eight teams will then proceed to a single-elimination playoff, where they'll battle for a share of the $550,000 prize pool, along with a $10,000 MVP bonus for the tournament's standout player.
This year's qualifiers have expanded to include top talent from various regions. Confirmed participants include DreamMax from the MWI 2025 LATAM Qualifiers, CFU Serendipity from Queen Legends Season 1, NAVI MY from the MYSG Qualifier, and Falcons Vega MENA from the Carry1st Africa Cup. Additional slots will be filled through ongoing regional events such as BOG Season 1, Athena League, and Lady MVP Season 6, with further qualifiers from China, North America, Mekong, Mongolia, and Türkiye set to conclude soon.
As part of the larger Esports World Cup 2025, MWI's return promises to be a highlight of the event, which features top clubs competing across multiple titles in a unique cross-game format. Smart Omega Empress will return to defend their title, but with fierce competition from around the globe, the outcome remains uncertain.
