What is RSTI?
The Self-Employed Workers' Social Scheme (RSTI) is a groundbreaking initiative by the National Social Security Fund (CNPS) in Côte d'Ivoire. It offers essential social protection to self-employed individuals, covering them against illness, accidents, and maternity, while also providing a lifelong pension upon retirement.
Who is Considered a Self-Employed Worker?
RSTI is open to all self-employed workers residing in Côte d'Ivoire, whether Ivorian or foreign nationals. This includes a wide range of professions such as farmers, artisans, traders, transporters, athletes, artists, consultants, miners, non-salaried entrepreneurs, religious leaders, and Ivorians working abroad.
What Are the Advantages of RSTI?
In the event of illness or an accident leading to incapacity, self-employed workers receive income based on their declared earnings to the CNPS. Maternity benefits are also provided, with beneficiaries receiving 98 days of declared income. Upon reaching the age of 60, retirees are entitled to a lifelong pension. In the unfortunate event of death, the pension is transferred to designated beneficiaries under specified conditions.
