A dynamic card game blending elements of Bridge, Daihinmin, and Poker for an exciting gameplay experience.
Tichu is a strategic partnership card game where teams of two compete against each other from opposite seats. Partners work together to accumulate points and gain advantage through multiple rounds, aiming to be the first team to reach a predetermined target score.
The Tichu deck features 56 cards across four distinctive suits: Jade, Swords, Pagodas, and Stars. Each suit contains 13 cards ranked from 2 through Ace, plus four special cards - the Dragon, Phoenix, Hound, and Mah Jong - that add unique gameplay mechanics.
Gameplay begins with eight cards dealt to each player, at which point they may declare a "Grand Tichu" - a bold 200-point wager that they'll be first to play all cards. After receiving six additional cards, players can make a standard "Tichu" declaration worth 100 points. These bets differ in timing, card visibility, and point values.
Following the full deal of 14 cards per player, the game enters a card exchange phase where each participant passes one hidden card to every other player (three in total) while receiving three in return, creating strategic opportunities and unexpected twists.
The Mah Jong holder initiates play by leading any valid card combination. Subsequent players must play higher-value combinations of the same type or pass. Special "Bomb" plays break this convention. The round continues until two teammates empty their hands, with penalties applying to the last remaining player holding cards.
Victory goes to the first team reaching or surpassing the pre-established target score after multiple exciting rounds of strategic play.
