"Days Gone Remastered: Now with Adjustable Game Speed"

by Noah May 19,2025

The much-anticipated Days Gone Remastered is on the horizon, and Sony's Bend Studio has recently shared exciting details about the accessibility features that will enhance the gaming experience. One of the standout features is the ability to adjust the Game Speed, allowing players to slow down the action when things get intense. This feature, detailed in a new PlayStation Blog by Bend Studio's Creative & Product Lead Kevin McAllister, lets players scale the gameplay speed from 100% down to 75%, 50%, and even 25%. McAllister emphasized that this option is designed to assist players who might find high-pressure situations challenging, particularly when facing the game's notorious Freaker hordes.

"Game Speed is ideal for players who might feel overwhelmed in certain situations or have difficulty with various inputs in high-pressure moments, specifically fighting off hordes of Freakers," McAllister explained. He highlighted that with the introduction of the new Horde Assault mode in the remaster, making this unique combat experience more accessible was a priority for the team.

In addition to the Game Speed adjustment, Days Gone Remastered will offer a range of other accessibility options. These include customizable subtitle colors, a High Contrast Mode, UI Narration, and Collectible Audio Cues. The auto-complete QTE feature, previously exclusive to the Easy difficulty, will now be available across all difficulty levels, from Easy to Survival II.

Bend Studio also confirmed that most of these new accessibility features will be rolled out to the PC version of Days Gone. However, some features like feedback and control customization will require a compatible controller.

Announced in February, Days Gone Remastered promises not only enhanced accessibility but also additional features such as an improved photo mode, permadeath, and speedrun options. This remastered version of the 2019 post-apocalyptic zombie action-adventure game, centered around a biker's journey, is set to launch on April 25, 2025. Players who already own the PS4 version can upgrade to the PS5 remastered edition for just $10.
