Kingdomino Hits Android After Board Game Success

The award-winning tabletop game Kingdomino has arrived digitally, now available on Android and other platforms. Originally launched as a board game in 2017, it earned the prestigious Spiel des Jahres (Game of the Year) award.

A Perfect Mobile Adaptation

Developed by Meeple Corp in partnership with Blue Orange Games and Bruno Cathala, this mobile version faithfully recreates the original gameplay. Players construct their kingdoms by strategically connecting forests, lakes, fields, and various terrain types.

The Strategic Domino Gameplay

Kingdomino challenges players to build the highest-scoring kingdom using domino-style tiles arranged in either 5×5 or 7×7 grids. Each tile features two terrain types, with special crown tiles boosting scoring potential.

Beginning with just a castle, players must thoughtfully select and place tiles where matching terrains connect. The innovative drafting system adds depth—choosing stronger tiles early affects turn order in subsequent rounds.

Victory comes from creating expansive, interconnected territories through classic turn-based play for up to four competitors. As players advance, they'll unlock cosmetic enhancements including themed castles, decorative meeples, icons, and frames.

Visual Fidelity

The digital version maintains the board game's delightful aesthetic with colorful hand-drawn environments, enhanced by smooth 3D animations and lively tile effects.

Multiple Play Options

Kingdomino offers diverse gameplay modes:

  • Single-player battles with adjustable AI difficulty
  • Real-time online multiplayer with matchmaking
  • Local pass-and-play for shared screens

The $4.99 premium title includes cross-platform support, offline functionality, and content inspired by expansions like Age of Giants plus global leaderboards.
